PEERS Vancouver was founded in October 2001 by two former PEERS Victoria employees. We are located in Vancouver, with clients who come from a range of communities within the Greater Vancouver and surrounding areas. Since services became available in August 2002 we have served over 350 men, women and youth per year who have a history of sex work. PEERS Vancouver currently employs a team of 9 staff members and offers a supportive, comprehensive exiting program to assist individuals who have made the decision to exit from sex work. Our programme is designed to address the unique challenges and barriers faced when seeking alternate employment. We maintain a grass-roots, client centred approach to the counselling and employment services we offer. As we are continuously adapting and seeking new ways to better assist our clients, we strongly encourage those we represent to offer feedback and suggestions.
